Ablaze is delighted to announce our seventh poetry competition.

Ablaze is running another exciting poetry competition, giving Primary School pupils in the West of England the chance to write a poem about ‘Peace’.

This year we are doing things a little bit differently – winning poems will be published online on our website, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn accounts. All the best poems that we receive will be compiled into a pdf book that will be available for free

Children are encouraged to be imaginative in their interpretation of the topic – they may wish to write about what peace means to them or how they would bring about world peace. This competition is a wonderful opportunity for local children to showcase their writing skills and for the winners to see their poems in published form.

We have a free video workshop that teachers can use with their pupils to inspire them to write poetry. You can find it here.

We are also looking for colourful pictures for our pdf book with the theme of ‘Peace’. Pupils can let their imaginations and creativity run wild to create an eye-catching cover picture. Pictures must be drawn on a piece of A4 white paper, keep it bold and colourful.

Please make sure you read the terms and conditions below, then click the button to submit your entry.
