Message from Sally Melvin, Ablaze CEO:

Ablaze would like to clarify our current position with regards to the Coronavirus and to set out our recommendations. We are following official guidelines from Public Health England and monitoring these regularly. We are also seeking guidance from Bristol City Council and are receiving regular updates on policy changes and recommendations from them.

We are now issuing the following advice – we recommend that schools and businesses suspend all Ablaze and WEM volunteering activity, to be reviewed on 20th April. We will be in touch on that date with the latest advice from BCC and PHE and with a further recommendation for action from that date.

We are asking businesses to get in contact with their partner schools to confirm that programmes will be on hold until further notice.

We also ask that you let us know if your school or office closes and if so, what arrangements you are being provided with to enable you to continue working. Please let us know if we are ok to contact you with updates and information if this happens.

We will keep the information on our website updated as regularly as possible.

From the team at Ablaze we’d like to say a huge thanks to everyone for the amazing work you do with our young people. We hope that we will be able to resume our programmes in the not too distant future. In the meantime, stay safe and well.
